Counterflow Heat Exchanger (CFHX)

Achieving unprecedented distillation energy efficiency requires reusing a very large percentage of the heat in the hot outflows of distilled water and concentrate by transferring it to colder influent. Commercially available counterflow heat exchangers are generally less efficient that our protected design based on a multiple tube in tube configuration of about 72 feet long for outflows of a little over 1/3 of a gallon per minute. One CFHX is used for the SDRM and six in parallel are used for the LDRM (shown).Don’t worry about sounding professional.
